Less crowded beach. Alot more debris than the Percy priest beaches because of the Cumberland river.
This is an Army Corp of Engineers site, and doesn't have many of the amenities of a national park. Located not far from an industrial park, the sound of OSHA backup alarms drift in to the beach area. The beach overlooks the dam, some sort of maintenance building and an electrical substation, not exactly scenic, but the water and beach are clean, and it's close to Nashville proper.
The boat dock side where you dock your boats needs to be cleaned up with paved roads and trees and bathroom it's a nice place take advantage and make it nicer
Fun atmosphere, but there's a lot of litter especially since you have to pay for parking.
U couldn't find a better to go for a great family afyernoon. The place is great....grills, tables, shade trees, sandy beach,n a great staff that keeps the place beautiful. All for $5 a parking spit. Best deal going for a day out with the grandbabies.
